Sandy Burris of Sandusky was named  “2024 Hero of the Friends of Old Woman Creek” during the Friends recent annual meeting. The Heroes award is presented to individuals recognizing their outstanding contributions to the stewardship of Old Woman Creek State Nature Preserve and National Estuarine Research Reserve.
